In the current climate saving money for many is paramount fleets and individuals alike simple things can make a big difference to your vehicle fuel bills try our top 10 for size:

1) Maintenance, Maintenance, Maintenance - a well serviced vehicle will perform better

2) Use the best oil and brake products you can afford - Zero weight oils such as that made by BP reduce the energy required for the engine to push the oil around.

3) Dump everything that you dont need - just look around your vehicle and think do I really need those wellies or spare tools?

5) Dont leave on roof boxes and roof bars when not using them

6) Drive smoothly or go on a course to learn to drive smoothly - change gear less and make sure you are in the right gear for the road speed

7) Don't idle - idleing uses almost as much fuel as driving at 30 mph! So turn it off

8) Use cruise control if fitted

9) Buy a 'good' sat nav and update its maps regularly it may just keep you on track. Feel free to tell her to shut up! (her being the sat nav not your better half!)

10) Plan your journey visit sites such as www.petrolprices.co.uk to find the cheapest place for fuel along your journey.
