6) Drive smoothly or go on a course to learn to drive smoothly - change gear less and make sure you are in the right gear for the road speed.

7) Don't idle - idleing uses almost as much fuel as driving at 30 mph! So turn it off!

8) Use cruise control if fitted.

9) Buy a 'good' sat nav and update its maps regularly, it may just keep you on track. Feel free to tell her to shut up! (her being the sat nav not your better half!).
